Welcome to Phoenix Singers
Birmingham
Birmingham
Phoenix Singers Birmingham is a registered charity. We usually hold three major fund raising concerts each year, one at Christmas, one at Easter and the other in the summer. Our repertoire covers a wide range of music, from gospel to 'pop', from sacred to folk.
We sing for enjoyment and put on regular concerts to raise money for local charities, in a variety of venues around the Birmingham area, or as guests of choirs elsewhere in the country.
We are proud to have donated over £40,000 to charities that we have supported over the last twenty years; Breast Cancer UK, West Midlands Kidney Appeal, St. Mary's Hospice, Conductive Education, Action for Children, MNDA, Lymphoma Association, The Phoenix Children's Foundation, Alzheimer's Society, Midland Freewheelers Blood Bikes, Birmingham Children's Hospital and Acorns Children's Hospice.
We also enjoy the opportunity to tour abroad every other year, to venues such as Poland, Spain, Hungary and Germany.
We are always happy to welcome new members, so if you like to sing, come along and give us a try. For more details please see our Membership page.
We also value the support of Choir Sponsors for either our concert programme or advertising. You will be helping our chosen charity by enabling us to pass on more financial support. If you are interested in helping us, please get in touch by completing our Contact Form.

Phoenix Singers welcome a new Patron
When invited to become a patron of Phoenix Singers, Bob Vivian's reaction was
“I was so delighted when I was recently asked to become the choir's Patron and did not have to hesitate with my response.
I have played in many concerts over the years with The Phoenix Choir, with my 10-piece brass ensemble, Gemini Brass*. All of these concerts have been so rewarding to have been involved in, especially under the baton of their Conductor, James Jones.
It has been a pleasing journey to hear the choir's impressive progress during this time. Equally impressive has been their contrasting and challenging repertoire. I look forward to many more such concerts”.
*Bob formed Gemini Brass in 1980 to promote brass chamber music. Its repertoire extends from 16th century to the present day, encompassing a wide range of musical styles. The ensemble can tailor its performances to the requirements of individual events. As well as performing brass chamber music that has established Gemini Brass as a potent force within the Midlands music scene, the group happily accompanies various choral activities. Bob also regularly writes brass and percussion accompaniments for some of our concert pieces.
On 22nd April 2025 a group of Phoenix Singers began a 6-day tour to Belgium. Based in Ypres, our tour included performances at The Last Post Ceremony at the Menin Gate, and at St George's English Memorial Church. We also visited Bruges and Lille ...... and of course, no trip to Belgium would have been complete without a brewery tour and chocolate workshop!
