Christmas Cracker Concert

Christmas Cracker Concert 2013 – 3 pm, Saturday 21 December - Adrian Boult Hall, Birmingham

Following the success of our 2012 Cracker, we will again be performing in the Adrian Boult Choir in December.  Please put the date in your diary and bring the whole family along for an exhilarating concert of seasonal music, with plenty of audience participation.

‘The Peacemakers’ Concert in Town Hall, Birmingham on Sunday 30 June 2013 at 7.00 pm

Phoenix Singers will be joined by guest choirs and orchestra to perform Karl Jenkins’ 2012 composition, ‘The Peacemakers’.  The concert will be in aid of the National Institute for Conductive Education (NICE), our chosen Charity of the Year.  Our guests are Quay Voices from Gateshead and One Sound Choir and Orchestra, a national youth choir.

This composition is a work extolling peace.  Karl Jenkins uses words spoken by many famous people, such as Ghandi, Nelson Mandela and Terry Waite, on the theme of peace, and sets them to music.  The music is uplifting and the words are moving, and we hope that both the audience and those taking part will find it an inspiring experience, especially in the wonderful setting of Town Hall.

Choir Tours:
In May 2013 the choir was on tour in Solvenia, staying at Lake Bled and performing two concerts locally.
Many of the choir also tour together every other year, generally in Europe. While we are there we perform concerts in beautiful churches or other venues. Whenever possible we like to invite relatives and friends of choir members to join us on these trips and a great time is had by all! Countries visited so far include; Spain, Hungary, Poland, Germany Holland and Italy.
